The roadmap is general. Every school sets its own application rules, and Oregon’s Board of Bar Examiners controls admission requirements.

School-specific
Do not treat one school’s rule as universal.
University of Oregon’s current JD application requires an LSAT score and CAS report. Other schools may set different testing requirements. Check each program directly.

The exam score changed with NextGen.
Oregon set a score of 615 for the July 2026 NextGen UBE and 620 for later NextGen administrations. The legacy UBE score of 270 is not the current NextGen standard.

Two distinct Oregon qualification routes.
This is the decision point the original page blurred. SPPE is an alternative licensure examination after qualifying legal education—not a substitute for law school.
NextGen UBE
Oregon began administering the NextGen Uniform Bar Examination in July 2026. The Board publishes current dates, application windows, test details and score rules.
- Exam administered in February and July
- Current Oregon score set by the Supreme Court
- Separate character-and-fitness and MPRE requirements apply
SPPE
The Supervised Practice Portfolio Examination combines paid supervised work with assessed work products and required learning activities.
- A qualified employer and supervising attorney are required
- The current handbook specifies 675 hours of program work
- Written work, client interactions and negotiation work are assessed

Use dates as checkpoints, not promises.
School deadlines
UO Law currently says applications open September 1 and lists March 1 as its priority date. Confirm the cycle you intend to enter.
CAS processing
LSAC recommends registering for CAS six to eight weeks before the first application deadline and allowing processing time for transcripts.
Board calendar
Bar-exam and SPPE timing depend on current Board windows, eligibility, employment and review—not a generic graduation-date estimate.
